Happy Easter!

1st-haircut.jpg

Just a quick post to say Happy Easter!  It came fast this year, so it's taken us kind of by surprise.  We have a Primary Easter Egg Hunt planned for Saturday morning and we might swing by the Art Show.  I think the Easter Bunny might show up at our house too, but he's kind of taking it easy this year!

B-berry had his first haircut today!  The Groomer didn't cut him all over though.  Just trimmed his eyes and feet.  He was fighting her too much I guess.  But he is fluffy and clean and I can see his eyes for the first time in many months.  I'm taking him back on the 24th to get his all-over cut.  In the meantime, she says we need to get him used to lifting up his legs and stuff.  We'll do our best.

Hope everyone has great Easter plans!  We'd like to hear from you (seems some of our family have forgotten about their blogs) so leave us a post.  We love you! Have a great weekend!

Busy Week ahead...as usual

Back to the grind.  I biked in early this morning.  I need to get the crank tightened on my bike, it sounds like it is ready to fall off.  I am going to take the bike in for a tune-up, but there is usually a week downtime before they can do it.  If I can get the crank tightened, I should be ok until then.

Blackberry's hair continues to grow, if it gets much longer I am going to attach him to a pole and use him as a mop.  Tonya is going to call around today and see how much it is to get him groomed.  I hope it is done soon.

No soccer games this past weekend due to conference and no games this weekend due to Easter.  Conference was great, heard many things that were very pertinent to me. Priesthood session was great.  Can't wait until Thursday when all the talks are published on the internet so that I can read them again. Tonya signed Shaylie up for pee-wee baseball and for me to be the manager.  Here we go again.

I have a meeting with the Stake Clerk about my new calling on Tuesday.  He gets to tell me that I have to update every ward's computer and all the computers in the family history center.  Oh what fun!

I need to start planning April's Train club meeting.  This month it is definately staying on the planned day, I am not doing that much work to organize a meeting again.  We are either going to be at Bryan's house or mine, so I better get that worked out.  Next month we meet at the G Scale group, so I won't have as much to do.

Believe it or not...

We are almost finished delivering Girl Scout Cookies!!!!  We have two more orders to deliver, two extra boxes to sell, and one last stash of money to collect from Anissa until we are completely, utterly finished forever.  This has been a challenge to say the least!  I have not been so glad to be finished with a project since the last time I finished selling cookies....I had a moment of panic when I found I was missing about $77.00 until I remembered that Anissa still had her school orders to turn in....the amount: exactly $77.00.  Yay!

Today has been a super cold and rainy day.  I was supposed to have lunch with Chad today, but I realized belatedly that I also scheduled a lunch meeting....when I called Chad to cancel he told me he wasn't feeling well, so it worked out okay.  Especially since he would have had to drive down in a snow storm too.  We'll have to do it another time.  I was bummed to miss my chance to have a day out with my little brother and niece.

Lots of love to everyone....leave us a note...we'd love to hear what you are up to these days...

Good Railfanning Trip

Utah Railway 5005 Utah Railway 5004
(Click pictures to enlarge)

I had a good trip for watching trains this weekend. As I was driving up north this weekend, I saw these engines in Springville so I had to go check them out. As I pulled up, I saw that IPPX has bought a LOT of new coal cars, I think at least 70 of them, there could be more, (I saw 1001-1070) More pictures later. I also saw a coal train going north by Nephi.
On the way home, I saw Utah Railway's 2003, 2008, and 6063 sitting in the yard, didn't take any pictures of those though as I didn't think I could do it safely. Also saw a train next to the Apple Barn in Nephi led by a Southern Pacific engine.

It's a Blackberry!

Our little BB is back from his surgery and seems to be just fine!  The instructions were to keep him from jumping and running around for a few days....but to tell the truth, I'm not sure how we're supposed to accomplish this feat.  He is happy and was hungry as soon as he came home even though she said that he would be tired and may not eat.  I'm just glad he's home and he didn't die....Taylor informed me that if he had, she would never forgive me....so it really did work out the best for all of us.  Now, it's off to the groomers....but I'm honestly more afraid to take him there.  I kind of like his shaggy look.

 Love to everyone!

Stranded

My brother Mike and his wife Erin have been in NYC on a class trip with 23 of Erin's students from Arizona.  They've been snowed in and won't be able to get a flight out until Tuesday (they were originally scheduled to fly home on Friday!)  Tomorrow, they are going to make some signs and try to get on the Today show.  I'm recording it, just in case.  At least if they have to be stranded, it sounds like they're having fun!  Mike is supposed to start a new job in Denver on either Tuesday or Wednesday, but he has talked to his new boss and he completely understands that this is out of his control.  He'll have a good story to tell, at any rate.

We are all good...Scott is now up in SLC for Brainshare.  He'll be back Wednesday.  We'll miss him, but we'll be busy with GS cookies.  I am bound and determined to be done delivering this week!!!!  We still have over half the orders to go.  I am never doing this again!

Both the girls won their soccer games on Saturday.  Shaylie is much improved this year and it is very fun to watch them.  Hope some of you can make their games this season!

Blackberry is going in on Wednesday for the Big Snip.  I'm wondering if he needs to get a haircut first....he is pretty shaggy.  But I like him that way a bit.  I found some pictures that I like, I may have to take those in and request a style.  The surgery is an outpatient deal.  We're opting for the laser, because they say that the recovery time is shorter.  I hope he'll be okay...poor thing.  I'm sure he will.

Spring has sprung here in St. George.  The blossoms and daffodils are out.  Leaves are sprouting and grass is turning greener everyday.  It won't be long before we have to crank up the old AC and set up the pool.  Years go by faster all the time.

Love to all.  As usual, I've written a very long epistle, when I only meant to write a short note.  It was fun to visit Aunt Cheryl and let the girls get to know her a little bit.  Hopefully, they'll see her again at the Big Reunion in July.  Let us know how you all are doing...Post again soon!

Spring Break has begun!

The girls are out of school this week.  It should be fun, except Scott and I are in big trouble...according to the girls, everybody in the world is "going somewhere" for Spring Break except us.  Apparently, we are not doing our job as parents.  I'm sure we will manage to eke out some sort of meager entertainment, but we have failed by comparison. I'm afraid the best we'll be able to do is to visit Holden.  My grandparents are both home and doing better, I've heard, plus my Aunt Cheryl is there and since she may not be coming to the big reunion this summer (I've also heard) this may be a rare chance to visit.

Next week, Scott will be traveling to Brain Share in SLC.  I never enjoy it when he leaves, but I think he has a great time there.  Hopefully, he'll be learning some cutting edge stuff so he can keep his genius status alive and well.

Mom visited this weekend and Taylor and I both got our hair cut again.  Tay's looks amazing.  She is really becoming such a beautiful girl.  She's starting to be concerned with fashion and style, which means she'll be needing a job soon.  :-p Mine is very retro for me.  I feel like I've had this hairstyle most of my life, but I guess that must mean something.  It was time for a change....or was it?

We're still trying to deliver GS cookies.  I am so over this.  I do not remember it taking so long in other years, but then again we never sold 850 boxes before.  Plus, since it is Spring Break, we are finding many people are not at home.  This is bad.  We are going to have to repeat the entire delivery route, just to hit the people we missed the first time around.  GRRR.  Oh well, this will be over soon.

Happy Spring Break to everyone!  Post again soon.
