Life flies by...

This past week Taylor and I attended an orientation at Fossil Ridge Intermediate School, where she will attend 6th grade....It is hard to believe!  I was 12 years old just yesterday....Each 6th grader gets to pick a music class to attend for the whole year.  The choir, band, and orchestra each performed to give the kids a taste and while I tried to get her to choose the Violin and Scott tried to get her to choose the trumpet...she ultimately ended up choosing the flute...which I think is a great instrument too!  I'm still reeling from the time warp, but we are all excited for the adventures to come.

Taylor and Shaylie have both begun Soccer...They have games almost every Saturday from next week until the end of April.  Not this week because of Spring Break and the first two weeks in April are not scheduled for some reason...but other than that, they will be busy.

We are now in the midst of delivering Girl Scout cookies.  It's going to take some time.  My living room is full of cookie boxes and so is the van and Scott's car.  With Spring Break coming up, chances will be large that many are out of town.  We'll see.  We have until the end of the month to get them all out.

Lastly, my van is acting up.  It has always had an alarm system installed but we've never messed with it or used it, but lately (since our trip to Phoenix) it has been going off whenever I try to start my car.  I had to have Scott go dig up the remote, but that doesn't always work to turn it off.  Plus, the worst is that it has an engine kill feature, so until we can disarm it (today it took me an hour and a half to figure it out), I can't start my car!! I finally ended up cutting the wire to the speaker so that it wasn't making deafening screeching noises every two minutes while I was tinkering with it.  I'm taking it in on Tuesday of next week, so they can hopefully disarm it for good.

Love to everyone.  We will Post Again Soon (PAS)!  T:)

Rain and Snow in St. George

Snow in St. GeorgeTaylor goes to Birthday party

(Click pictures to enlarge)

The hills are white, everywhere is wet, and white stuff is falling from the sky.  I was told there was snow to the freeway in the gorge this morning and there was white stuff on the top of my car when I went out to it.

Taylor finished her project on Lyndon B. Johnson last night.  She did it all by herself.  I hope she gets a good grade, she did it all while I was at the house of one of my clients.

Taylor went to Kaitlyn's birthday party yesterday, she had a great time.  It was pretty neat to watch the limo pull up to pick her up. (Kaitlyn's relatives have a limo service)

Shaylie and I delivered cookies to all my families yesterday and we took Blackberry for walks.

Today, Shaylie has Girl Scouts and Taylor has Soccer, busy times ahead.

Utah Railway in N Scale

Utah Railway
Well, I have the new engines running on the layout.  They look great!  Ralph Huddlestone painted them, and then showed me how to put the decals on. Then he took them home and clear-coated them, so they should last a long time.

We had our monthly train club meeting last night at my house.  We showed off the new engines, showed the web site and showed my house in HO scale.  We then went out to the train room and ran trains for an hour, it was great to have the meeting there.

Rainy Day

It's raining today in St. George.  I guess we can't complain too loudly since we have had about five days in a row of near perfect weather, in my opinion.  It's nice to have a good little soak now and again.

We had a good visit with Bobbie.  We had a good time checking out the Parade of Homes and some local furniture stores...getting good decorating and project ideas.  Bobbie was a little more ambitious in her plans than I...I told her if she does a good job with her building projects, she can do some for me...It could be a good little summer business for her....BobbieBuilt Furniture...

Taylor and I have been visiting the homes that Bob and I didn't get a chance to see.  She likes decorating and home stuff too.  I'm glad.

We're trying to head to Phoenix on Thursday for Mike's graduation on Friday...I don't have anywhere to leave BB though.  I might have to leave Scott home with him.  I don't want to do that...but I don't want to take him with us either.  I need to come up with a plan.  We're heading back Saturday so that we can be back for church on Sunday....we are starting a new schedule and Scott is in charge of Sharing Time.  I wish we could stay for longer and more fun....

Hope you have sunny weather where you are....if not, I hope you have a sunny disposition.  Take care and we'll post again soon.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a terrific Valentine's day!  Scott woke up early and surprised us all with presents and decorations all over the house.  The girls were so thrilled when they woke up to chocolate, teddy bears, and paper hearts plastered all over the house.---Not to mention my 3 lb. Solid Chocolate Heart. (I'll be eating it all year.) It was a great start to the day.

Taylor took her masterpiece creation for her class Valentine Box contest and ended up winning!!!  It was a big project we had all worked on for at least two nights.  She wanted to make the biggest and best box...which apparently she did....since she won!!!

Shaylie had a terrific party in her class too.  She came home with lots and lots of sweets, but no declarations of love (thank goodness!) from the boys in her class....other than the prepackaged valentine wishes.

Later in the evening, Scott took me to dinner while Taylor tended Shaylie & BB.  We had quite a wait to get into Red Lobster, so we went window shopping at Staples & Old Navy. Dinner was fabulous, a great Valentine's date.  (Ooops.  I was informed by Shaylie that calling it a date is "gross."  According to her, I should just say that we are "spending time together."  I was chastised many times yesterday for saying the D-word. )

I'm excited today to have my friend Bobbie coming down to visit.  She's coming tonight and staying until Saturday...We are going to visit the Parade of Homes and I get to show off my new house, since this is the first time she's been down since we moved.

Another busy weekend ahead...but that's what keeps life exciting and amazing!  We'll post again soon!
