2003!!!!!!!

I finally made my goal! 2000+ miles on my bike for the year!  I have been riding all over town to finally finish my goal for the year and as I was passing the place where I wrecked at the beginning of the year my odometer changed over to 2000 (is that irony :) )  Next year, if I can keep my bike working well, my goal is for 3000 miles.  With the trails finally being reopened, it should be possible and it will be nice to be able to do a lot of that off of the streets.

Must go and figure out how to make my legs not feel like rubber.

Presents

Here are the main presents from this year.  Shaylie got her mini me and another puppy purse.  Like all the matching colors and clothes.  Hiding in her purse is a DS. Taylor got her longer hair and a hot pink flute and some roses made out of ten dollar bills.  I think the girls were very happy.

I think I am figuring out the camera

We were out and about tonight taking pictures and I think I figured out the settings for night pictures.  What do you think?

Ready and Waiting...

Well, dare I say it?  I think we are ready for Christmas...We are just waiting for Santa to visit our good little girls on Monday night.  They have done extra work this week, trying to get ready for the Big Guy's visit and I think they will be rewarded for all their good deeds this year.

I have a few more deliveries to make to our good friends.  Most of them are made already and I'm waiting on a few more deliveries myself.  But if everything had to go ahead as is...I think we'd be set.  I'm glad we decided to keep it smaller and more simple this year...but even so, it's been kind of crazy.  I'm looking forward to the time off from work and school to just relax, unwind and have fun with our family and friends.

The girls finished up today and Scott has time off too.  We're going to have to make it a point to get out together and find the fun!  We had talked about going tubing with some of our friends...brrr, sounds cold!

So, Merry Christmas to all!  We'll probably post again soon after the big day!  To our family: We love you and are thinking of you always.  Have a fun holiday and we'll talk to you soon!

A Christmas Greeting

web-card.jpg

A very good friend of mine took our family portrait today.  She did an amazing job and even gave us this great Christmas card.  We hope it brings you much joy and happiness this holiday season! FYI-I'm ordering copies of our portrait for Grandparents.  We'll get them to you! Merry Christmas!

We've been elfed!

Sorry for the Confusion

Hey Everybody!  Sorry I confused everyone about the New Years'/Christmas 2 issue.  I did email Dad at one point to say that Scott found out that he was getting time off but we were still worried that our car wouldn't make the trip.  We ultimately decided to play it safe and not risk the chance that our engine (or tires, or front fender, or heater) would fall off half way between here and Denver, so we won't be coming to Denver after all.

At this point, we've decided to uphold tradition in honor of the family and hold a big bash here at our house.  We're inviting any family who will be in the area and as many friends as we can fit.  Just bring a treat and a bottle of your favorite bubbly drink and you're in!  I think we'll do games and movies and have a great time a la the Strongs.  Maybe we could hook up some video via the Internet so we could check in.  We'll miss being part of the last great Christmas 2 tradition but we'll do our best to keep the New Year spirit alive!

We have been INCREDIBLY busy this month.  Between Primary, my new job, Scott's old job, the kids activities, and Christmas in general, we have had something going every minute and the next few weeks looks the same.  Today is one of the few days that we don't have something happening.  I might try dragging Scott out to go Shopping...only 2 weeks left although I'm sure the moolah will run out before time does.

We had a very successful Toy Drive earlier this month.  We gathered a whole truckload of toys for Christmas.  The kids in our ward came to an activity where we cleaned up the newer used ones and sorted the new toys.  I was very proud of our children.  They did a great service project!  I think it so important to get kids thinking of giving at this time of year.  Mine, at least, find it hard to focus on anything other than what they're getting!  It's nice to do something for someone else.   In honor of my brother Bryan's Christmas wish, I donated $30.00 worth of new toys to our Drive, and I thank him for his generosity and for that of everyone who contributed.

Well, this has been a great long epistle.  I thought I better take the chance while I have a minute to get caught up on the blog it might be a while before I can get at it again!  Love to everyone! Merry Christmas!
