Back for a minute...

I'm back in SG for a couple days, I go back up on Friday to pick Taylor UP from camp.  She was so excited to go again this year, she woke up at 4:00 in the morning asking me if it was time to go yet.  I haven't had a letter yet, but I am hoping to get one soon.  My dad & maybe Shaylie are coming up with me to get Tay on Saturday.

Scott survived being alone by staying busy.  He had so much work to do and I don't think he is finished yet.  He didn't teach BB to clean the house, though I thought it was a good idea.  Maybe he can do it next weekend.

I did get my hair done.  It's pretty cute, but I don't have pictures yet.  Soon.  Tay should have camp pics to post at the end of the week.

Love to all....PAS.

Life alone

Been alone for a couple of days as Tonya took Taylor up to Girl Scout camp and Shaylie and Tonya have been in Holden.  Shaylie is staying in Holden this week as Tonya should be home sometime today.

I have been SUPER busy.  DWS bought 22 new computers so I have been getting those out.  BES and DWS are merging so the BES employees have been moving into the building for the past few days, so I have been over there doing that as well.  Then we were supposed to come up with a large item inventory in 2 days so I also had that stress.  Now I am feeling guilty that I haven't been home much and Blackberry gets to sit in his room bored.  I wish I could teach him to clean the house.  Well, back to setting up computers....

Off to Camp!

We're packed and headed to camp tomorrow!  We're going as far as Holden and then up to Park City early Monday.  Taylor has to be checked in at 10am, Monday morning.  She'll be up until Saturday when I'll be back to pick her up again.  Shaylie is staying at Grandma Dawn's for the week, so Scott and I will be on our own for a few days.

The weather looks like it will be nice for her, but we've packed many layer-able clothes for her just in case.  I think she is excited to go.  She had one of her friends braid her hair in many little braids.  It should make it easier for her while she is there.  She won't need to worry about it for a few days, at least.  Then I think I'll have Grandma help us figure out a cute style for 6th grade.  She wants to go brown, but I don't know...

I'm hoping Mom will help me with my hair this week too.  I am so tired of my permy style, I've had forever.  I need something new and cute.  Anissa has a cute style and color now, but I don't want to go that short.  If I get a new do, I'll post pictures.  Camp pics too. I'm sending Taylor with the Digi camera this year.  I still have the film cameras she took last year in my bathroom drawer waiting to be developed.  Which is why I gave up on those in the first place....Maybe I'll develop them while she's gone.

If anyone is interested, I know the camp has a website where they post messages and maybe pictures of the camp activities.  Here is the link to the Camp Journal.  Look for High Adventure entries...that's her camp.

Love to all, PAS!

IT WAS A BLAST

I took my first ride on a horse today is was the best at the end of the day I did not want to quit even if my but was supper well OUCH. It was so fun. I want a horse!!!

Fun with Friends

We had such a great time last night!  Our friends, the Terry's, invited us and our other friends, the Seifert's, up to their family's Pine Valley cabin to get out of the heat of the day.   (The Sabaitis family was supposed to come too, but they couldn't make it and we missed them.)

We had so much fun!  Dallin saddled up some horses and Taylor took to it beautifully, after her dad showed her the basics.  She was a little nervous at first but by the end of the day she was confident enough to take her sister for rides.  Her friends Kaitlan and Emily picked it up pretty quick too.  It was fun to see all three girls riding around on the horses.  Shaylie wasn't so sure if she liked it or not.  She was happy to go off on the four-wheeler with her mom, even though I kept finding the hardest trails imaginable.   We had a yummy barbecue and roasted marshmallows for S'mores.

When it came time to go, Taylor talked me into letting her stay up overnight and Shaylie wasn't happy that she didn't get to stay too.  I wish she could have but it would have been too much trouble to dump both the kids on Julie when I couldn't stay with her.  So after some tears and apologies to our hosts, we came on home.

The only downside to the whole night was my BDV (big dumb van).  I tried to take it up the mountain and it overheated so I sent the girls ahead with Julie and Amy and I took it back to the shop.  Scott and I drove up in the Toyota a bit later.  They had to replace the thermostat, which was actually broken into parts when they took it out, and replace the coolant.  I'm crossing my fingers that this is the last repair we have to make for a very long time.  BDV!

More summer adventures to come I'm sure...post again soon!

Sunburned!!

I took the girls to the City Pool on Thursday and came home with the worst sunburn I have had in many years.  I put on some lighter spf sunscreen that we've had for a few years, thinking it would do the trick.  I didn't realize that it would lose ALL of its effectiveness once it had aged.  I haven't been able to move much or sleep comfortably and it doesn't seem to be getting much better as the days pass.  I'm sure I'll be living with the effects for some time to come.  I'm such a baby...but it hurts. Wah.

The girls are having a good summer.  Now we are starting to get in gear for GS camp.  I've got most of Tay's stuff from previous years, but there are a few things yet to gather....bug spray, for one.  She goes through it like perfume up there.  I always expect her to come home glowing in the dark.

Shaylie is missing all of her friends from school.  The little girl across the street that she usually plays with hasn't been home much, she's either at daycare or at her dad's. So we've had to scrounge for friends.  We've even been to visit our old neighborhood a couple times.  And she's always ready to make friends at the park or pool or wherever.

We had our annual ward breakfast and water party this morning at the Splash Park near our house.  It was yummy and much more fun this year, since we know people now.  I was very protective of my sunburn so I didn't get wet, but the kids and Scott had a blast with water balloons and toys.  Taylor even had one of the dads dump a big cooler of ice water over her head when she wasn't looking.  It was totally awesome! :-)

More posting to come...Love to all! Happy Summer!

We're back!

Despite the rocky start, we made it to Lagoon and back again.  We almost didn't make it though.  We got all packed up and in the car, ready to go....and the car wouldn't start!  I had just taken it in on Friday and I mentioned a couple rough starts, but they couldn't find a problem, so it was very frustrating when we had to take it in again on Monday.  We jumped it and got it to the shop, where they told us it was either the battery or the starter....rather than take a chance, we had them replace both.  It only took about 3 hours, but then we were on the road.....yay!

Lagoon was fun as usual.  We took Bella with us and that made it very interesting.  She didn't like the fast twirly rides, but we kept taking her on them anyway.  She would scream and scream while she was on it, but then when we got to the next one, she wanted to ride it too.  It was funny.  All the girls won prizes at the "Guess It" game...and we went swimming at Lagoon-A-Beach.  There was a new roller coaster that Scott and Taylor loved...Wicked...The first hill was literally straight up in the air, around a hair pin curve and straight back down to the ground.  Too wild for me, but they loved it.

At the campground, Taylor found a little lost duckling and it started following her around.  The girls loved it and named it "Duckly" We had a hard time getting it out of our camp, though....Taylor finally put it in some bushes near the river where we saw a family of ducks, so hopefully it found its way back.

Overall, a pretty fun little vacation.  We'll be heading back up north in a couple weeks to take Tay to camp....It's been a busy month.  Love to all!  We'll post again soon.

Last Game of the Season and other news

This morning was Shaylie's last game.  It started off as a problem, because they had just finished watering the field and everything was soaked, so I spend some time cleaning up the field (flashbacks to high school) and then one of my player's grandparents came out and helped me get homeplate ready.  The game went very well, even though we only had 6 players.  The kids are starting to act like they know their positions and they did a pretty good job on defense.  On hitting, every single kid got three hits and Tiffany finally hit one into the outfield, I knew she had a big hitter in her!  Shaylie got three good hits, and in fact, in the third inning, hit it hard on the first pitch!  It was great fun.  I will miss the kids a lot!

Today on the train layout, I worked it out and now I can run 6 trains at a time on the N scale layout, it is fun watching all those trains it is pretty neat to see trains coming and going all the time.

I checked out our tent and everything is in working order for next week's campout.  We are all excited to be going camping.  E ya later!

Taylor's Coming Home

We are anxiously waiting for Taylor to come home from Grandma Dawn's.  She's been up in Holden for the past week.  We've been missing her but I know she's been having lots of fun...Anje was up there too, and today Aunt Anissa met Grandma in Beaver to pick up the girls. They should be here any minute.

We didn't get to visit with my Dad and Pam this weekend.  They needed to go up to Idaho Falls to be with Pam's dad, Royal.  Royal's wife, Viola, was having some heart troubles and needed to go to the hospital.  We were sorry that they couldn't be here, but they were where they needed to be.   We'll have other chances to visit.

Scott went up to Salt Lake for a meeting on Friday and he got to see Grandma J for a minute.  We're planning to go to SLC again next week for our (seems like) annual trip to Lagoon.  We're staying at the campground again...it was so much fun and so convenient.  And then again, to Park City, the week after for Taylor's Girl Scout Camp.  So much for high gas prices slowing us down!

July should be much quieter.  At least we can hope....Love to all!
