51000+

That is the number of spam comments are website has had.  I bet over 30,000 are from the same site, which is now permanently blocked. I am glad I have help from some programs on cleaning that up.

Sad thing is, in that same time, we have had only 861 comments from people on our blog. Basically a 60-1 ratio. That is a bunch of junk. Glad all I have to do is press delete.

Busy couple of days

Wednesday night I went to work and installed software on 50 computers.  I had forgotten how much work that is.  Then the next morning, I had to train everyone on how to use the software. After that, I drove to Puragtory (insert joke here) to the Utah Tax Commission to do a good relationships tour and set up their conference room for a training.  After driving all the way back, I get a phone call saying that someone in Adult Probation and Parole (APP) has spyware on the computer and it can't be removed remotely. Guess where APP is, yes you guessed it, Purgatory!  I drove back there and it took over an hour to get that off. I really do believe in capital punishment for virus and spyware writers. In fact, nasty capital punishment, because that would scare off anyone else.

Today, the state is installing a new T1 in my building.  Hopefully that will speed things up at my building, as I have been feeling like my home connection is faster than work.  Plus this should speed up my other building as it will take us our of their circuit.  Eventually, they will get one as well, but unfortunately not today.

Tonight Taylor has her first soccer practice (her first game is tomorrow, last season we probably had over 10 hours of practice before the first game) She is not on the same team as last year, so she is fairly upset that she knows no one on her team.  I hope that he at least teaches the defense the offside trap, I have a feeling that Taylor is going to be able to prove herself as a goalie this season, she may be VERY busy.

Taylor's Soccer Schedule

Well, it's soccer season again.  We are nervous, she doesn't have her normal coaches and she is playing in a 4th-6th grade league. 4th graders versus Taylor?!!? She will be two feet taller than them and destroy them.  Also, they might be playing be back to playing on the small soccer field???  I hope my fears are unfounded, but this league is starting to get on my nerves.

Well after that wonderful opening, here is the schedule:

  • March 1st, 9a.m.Mercury vs. Sonics (Dark)

  • March 15th, 12p.m. Mercury vs. Flash (Dark)

  • March 29th, 9a.m. Thunder vs. Mercury (Silver)

  • April 12th, 12p.m. Saturn vs. Mercury (Silver)

  • April 19th, 8a.m. Blaze vs. Mercury (Silver)

  • April 26th, 11a.m. Mercury vs. Sparks (Dark)

It had to happen...

This morning, on the bike trail (which I think is the front lines for the animal revolution, but that is another story) I came around a corner and a rabbit saw my headlight and started sprinting, however, they usually run off the trail, this time he came right at me!  I missed him with my front tire but he slammed into my left foot.  I stopped as fast as I could and grabbed my light.  It layed there for a second, then shook his head for a couple seconds and then sprinted into brush.  Hope he is ok.

Happy President's Day!

We are having a beautiful weekend!  It's been so warm and so sunny.  It's been nice to get outdoors a bit.  As you probably know, we don't have school or work tomorrow...so we're trying to think of something fun to do on our day off.

This week, I am going to leave this wonderful weather and head up north with the College Tour.  I don't think I have proper cold-weather gear..I may have to go buy boots and gloves and stuff.  It seems so strange since it's getting warm down here, but I don't want to freeze while I'm up traipsing around the various campuses.

Scott got his hair cut while my mom was down visiting...thanks, Mom...and I got my hair colored...thanks, again, Mom.  New looks for spring I guess.  The girls are still as beautiful as ever.

Love to everyone...not much to say today...check back later for more...

Spring has sprung!

I love February in St. George...this is the beginning of the best time of year down here.  February, March and April are the best!  It was almost 60 degrees this weekend.  We went to the park and played catch and waked the dog.  So fun!

I did get my car repaired, hopefully for the last time.  It sounds much better, although when I was driving home from the shop a piece of the front bumper fell off and was dragging underneath the car.  It took me a few minutes to figure out what it was.  I stopped at a friends house and he took it off for me.  I have no plans to reattach it.   They were also supposed to replace a burned out taillight but it is not working again which makes me think there's a short or some electrical problem, but I'm in denial.  As long as I can't HEAR any troubles, my car can die a slow QUIET death as far as I care.  (But I hope it won't.)  With all the repairs we've made recently, it should be as good as new.

Happy Valentine's Day this week! We'll post again soon with party news, and other fun stuff, I'm sure.  Love to everyone!

Superbowl & Snow

We had our traditional Superbowl party with chili, chips, and smokies.  About halfway through the game, the day's rain turned into big old snowflakes and left about an inch of snow all around.  The girls went out and built snowmen and made the traditional circle in the snow.  Scott took some pics which he'll have to post.  I brought the girls in after about two hours and put them in a warm tub.  They were out just in time to see Eli Manning pull out a big upset.  Sorry Patriots.  Talk to you soon...

February

It's February 1st.  Time for another update...

We did get our car back, but now it's making a very high pitch whine when I accelerate.  I took it in today for a look and it will cost another big chunk to fix the alternator and tensioner.  Now I just have to decide whether to fix it before or after it breaks.

Shaylie has been doing well with her Girl Scout Cookies.  Last count was 362. She's starting to make me nervous.  I'm trying to avoid long deliveries.  There's one more neighborhood that we need to hit and then we're done.

Scott has over 500 miles on his bike so far this year.  Pretty amazing.  At this rate, he'll have 6000 miles by the end of the year.  Or he'll be dead.

I'm finally starting the Newsletter part of my new job.  That will give me an extra four hours a week.  Last month, I got a grand total of 36 hours for the entire month.  Yay!  The extra will help.  I am also going on a College Tour with our students later this month. It's a two day trip to BYU, UVSC, the U and Weber.  I've heard they're pretty fun, but I'm reserving judgement.

Taylor had big drama at school today.  Some dumb kids decided to set one of the bathrooms on fire.  The prinicpal offered a reward and they caught the culprits.  Tay said they were searching through kids backpacks, but she was not on the police list to search (We're so proud!) The kids got expelled and the bathroom is "ashy" so it will be interesting to see if it is in the news or anything.  She was very excited about the whole thing.

I am also really looking forward to Super Tuesday.  I'm very excited and interested by the whole Presidential Campaign this year.  I'm rooting for Romney and I think he actually has the best chance against Hillary but I also find Obama very intriguing.  I think Hillary would win against McCain, but I predict McCain/Obama with Obama winning in November.  Can't wait.

Parade of Homes starts Feb. 15th...I think it goes two weekends now, but it is always on President's Day weekend for sure.  This is the beginning of my favorite time of year in St. George.  February, March, April and May rock!

Love to all...we'll post again soon.
