One week until Christmas...

We have been having a good visit with Grandma J.  She came Friday morning and will be leaving tomorrow after the girls head to school.  We've been to the girl's dance concert, Taylor's basketball game, and Beauty and the Beast at St. George Musical Theater.  It was a nice production and we all loved it.

Mom and Anissa came to support the girls this weekend too.  Monday night, I am watching Anje while Anissa finishes up some Christmas shopping.  I thought I was mostly done until we went to Cracker Barrel and saw some great stuffers and holiday decorations for pretty nice prices.  I going to have to go back and see what I can tell Santa about.

The girls only have four days of school this week.  Break starts on Friday.  It seems like a much shorter break than usual since the holidays fall on the weekends.  I'm not overly sad about it though.  It just means I have fewer days to entertain the children.

Dad, you're going to have to let us know when you'd like us to come up to visit for New Year's.  We can come whenever you like.  Just let us know the schedule.

More posts coming.  I loved all the poems everyone posted.  I wish all our entries could have that much interaction and fun!  Thanks for making it so memorable.  Love to all!

  1. Plans for Christmas 2December 18, 2006 at 1:06 PM

Hi to all the extended Strong family,

    Here is our Christmas schedule:
    12/21 or 22 - Idaho to Utah
    12/23 - Utah to Colo
    12/24 to 26 - In Colo
    12/26 or 27 - Colo to Utah
12/27 to 1/4 - In Utah enjoying time together as a family, laughing, loving and building memories for the future!!
    1/3 or 1/4 - Utah to Idaho

You all are welcome to come to Papa's house in Orem (409 N 900 E for those who haven't been there for awhile) as early as Th 12/28 (but anyone who shows up before Fri 12/29 will be handed a cleaning rag, so be prepared.

We will have beds for all of the adults, but the kids need to have a sleeping bag, since they will be sleeping on the floor (after all that is part of the tradition! Aren['t you adults glad that you have finally graduated to a bed). It might be wise to bring pillows / and an extra blanket because we are light on bedding.

Oh yeah, you need sleeping arrangements for the pets. They are welcome, but they need a carrier, a pen or a leash to connect them to your bed!

I also need help on Th / Fr, to repair a fence to keep the pets in our yard. Volunteers are welcome.

Christmas 2 will be celebrated Sun morning as the kick-off to the New Years Eve festivities, blending right into non-stop eating and game playing until the wee hours of Mon morning.

Please bring or be ready to prepare at the house for New Years:
    Tonya - bugle snacks
Chad - hot sausage / cheese dip
    Erin - kringla
    Anissa - raspberry dessert
Dena - you are off the hook for diet busters, but you need to bring something equally as decadent and no lighter on calories.

Please feel free to sustitute as you wish, these are just the things that my mouth remembers.

There will be the traditional snacks from Pam: lil weenies, bacon & green olives, vegetable dip.

For the other days, there will be oatmeal & breakfast cereal & milk. For lunches and dinners we thought there would be a lot of group food, like 6' sandwiches, pizza, bag of hamburgers, bag of hot dogs, etc.

Bring your favorite games, or your new ones. Bring your favorite DVDs to watch (as an excuse for napping when we have all passed out from over-eating). Also, bring a bottle of your favorite New Years bubbly.

We are sooooooo excited to have everyone together this year. We can't wait to be kissing, hugging, playing, laughing, teasing, etc, etc, etc!!!

    Love from Roger & Pam

Oh, if you have any changes or comments, just post them here on this site and we will all adapt. Love!!!

  2. Thanks Dad! Looks like you've got everything covered. We are probably going to arrive sometime on Friday...maybe in the evening. I think Scott is working....maybe not. We'll let you know for sure. Love you and we can't wait either.
