The Agony of Defeat...

We had a heartbreaking loss in the Championship Game.  Taylor's team played such a great game!  Taylor was amazing.  She made at least 5 awesome saves if not more...she just threw her body right in front of the ball.  The other team was made up of all sixth graders and they were much bigger than us.  Regardless, we got the first goal right away, then they scored on us and it stayed that way for most of the game.  They just happened to slip one by Tay in the last two minutes and we didn't have time to come back and score.  I personally was praying for NO Shoot Out...so I'm glad somebody won...I just wish it would have been our girls.  The coaches were so great at giving the girls encouragement and making them feel better about the loss.

Tay has been struggling.  Goalie is a hard position, but she was brave and gave 1000% effort, but she still feels responsible.  I'm sure she'll feel better tomorrow.  We are so proud of her and her efforts this year.  Like everything else she does, she gave it all of her heart and completely dedicated herself to being the best she possibly could be.

Thanks to all of you for words of encouragement and support! Hopefully, she'll post some words soon.  Love to all!

  1. Tay, I am so proud of the way you have played all season. You can't take responsiblity for the loss or you take away the responsiblity of your team mates and then why should they even try to help you, if your all the game. The game is never about one person, can't be or it wouldn't be called a team sport. You are awesome and not many could play goalie with the vigor that you do.. Losing is hard but just the fact you were out there giving it your all is amazing to me. I love you and will see you soon. Love Grandma Dawn

  2. Taylor,
I am so proud of the season that you had. You have shown great strength & endurance in helping to take your team so far! The most important trait of all is persistance. Go on to play more, play to win even when you know that sometimes your team will lose a game or two. The ability to risk it all to play to win is exceeded by the ability to recover from a loss to win again. Getting up and going on will make you the champion in the only game that really counts, the game of life.

We love you, Papa & Gramma Pam

  3. Hi, Taylor Lynn I am so proud of you, you can't be responsible for the team losing, it takes the whole team to win a game, some of the players should have stopped it before it got to you. I know you did the best you could because you have always done so. Give Mom a big kiss for me for Mothers Day and also give Shaylie and Dad hugs and kisses. I love you!!!!! Grandma J.
